This is a list of the awards and nominations received past the Indian player, producer and director Aamir Khan. He has won ix Filmfare Awards, out of 32 nominations, including 3 All-time Actor awards[ane] for Raja Hindustani (1996),[ii] Lagaan (2001), and Dangal (2016),[three] the Best Player (Critics) honor for Rang De Basanti (2006), the All-time Picture show award for Lagaan, Taare Zameen Par (2007), and Dangal, and the All-time Director award for Taare Zameen Par. He has also won four National Film Awards, equally an role player in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988) and Raakh (1989), the producer of Lagaan and Madness in the Desert (2004), and the manager-producer of Taare Zameen Par.
Overseas, Lagaan earned an Academy Accolade nomination for Best Strange Language Picture show, and won various awards at international film festivals. This fabricated it one of merely three Indian films to receive an Oscar nomination, along with Mehboob Khan's Mother India (1957) and Mira Nair's Salaam Mumbai! (1988).[4] This besides makes Aamir Khan one of the few Indian filmmakers to e'er receive an Oscar nomination.[5] Two more than of his films were India's submissions to the Oscars, Taare Zameen Par [6] and Peepli Live (2010),[vii] [8] while Dhobi Ghat (2011) was longlisted for the BAFTA Award for All-time Moving picture Not in the English Language,[9] though neither were nominated. In 2017, Dangal won him the inaugural Best Asian Film award at Australia'southward 7th AACTA Awards,[10] [11] equally well equally Movie of the Year and Pinnacle Strange Actor from Red china's Douban Film Awards,[12] [13] and it is an honour nominee for the 68th Berlin International Film Festival.[fourteen]
In addition, Khan has received honorary accolades, including the Authorities of India'southward Padma Shri in 2003[15] and Padma Bhushan in 2010,[16] and an honorary doctorate past the Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) for his distinguished contributions to the Indian cinema and entertainment industry.[17] In 2011, he accepted an invitation from the Berlin Film Festival to exist a member of the jury, later on having previously turned down their offer three times since 2008.[eighteen] In 2017, the Academy of Movement Picture Arts and Sciences invited Khan for membership,[19] and he received an award for "National Treasure of Bharat" from the Regime of China.[20]
Despite having won numerous awards and honours, Aamir Khan is known for refusing to nourish, or take awards from, Indian film award ceremonies. This has occasionally led to controversy, notably at the 2017 National Picture show Awards when the honour committee responded by refusing to laurels Khan with the Best Thespian laurels for his operation in Dangal.[21]

- 2009 – "Raj Kapoor Smriti Vishesh Gaurav Puraskar", an award received from the Authorities of Maharashtra in May 2009 for outstanding contribution to Indian cinema.
- 2013 – Honorary Doctorate by Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) for his distinguished contribution to the Indian picture palace and entertainment industry.[22]
- 2017 – "National Treasure of Republic of india", an award received from the Government of Cathay in Apr 2017.[20]

National Motion-picture show Awards [edit]
The National Film Awards is one of the almost prominent film honor ceremonies in India. Established in 1954, it is administered past the International Film Festival of India and the Indian government'south Directorate of Film Festivals. The awards are presented past the President of India. Due to their national scale, they are considered to exist Indian movie house's equivalent to the Academy Awards.[27]
